We hope the Stories franchise would serve as one of the pillars of the Monster Hunter series so it was important for us to foster it. We wanted to put a lot of energy and love and resources into it to make sure we can produce the kind of game that we can be proud of. In order to do that, we wanted to make sure that we got started off on the right foot. Tsujimoto: As you know, Monster Hunter is an action series but we wanted to carry that same essence into an RPG game. What drove your decision to put this much effort and resources on a spinoff game. It actually reminds me of the same feeling I got playing the Megaman Legends spinoffs in the past, which I thought were really good. RGJ: For a spinoff series, the quality of Monster Hunter Stories was quite good and Stories 2 takes that to an even higher level. We’re really excited to bring the game to everybody but as a producer, you want to make sure everybody’s aware of what the game is about and what kind of elements it has and really share those details with everyone.

Reno Gazette Journal: Now that you’ve reached the home stretch, how are you feeling about the game? Are you nervous? Excited? What are you looking forward to the most?
